Frequently asked questions
Q1: What resolution do I need to scan my photograph at before I send it to you?- The minimum resolution should be at least 300 dpi for a good print quality photograph and also for the detail to be sufficient for restoration.
-
You should either set the resolution much higher than the standard (print quality) 300 dpi through your scanner software or set the scan at a percentage figure greater than 100%. Both methods will make it possible to enlarge your scanned image.
A good start for enlargement is to use approx 600-1200 dpi.
Note:
Scanning at a higher resolution also picks up far more blemishes as the scanner picks up everything which will need more retouching than normal.
- The only method we employ at this time is to attach the file in an email to our Photo retouching service
where we will assess it and give you an approximate cost.
(Please note that the size of the attachment cannot exceed 8mb in size)
Q4: If I approve of the work, how do I pay?
- The primary method we use is Paypal which is a secure method of paying on the internet.
We do however accept other methods such as postal order, cheque or direct deposit in a bank account.
